Under Eye Dermal Fillers Melbourne

Dermal fillers are injectable procedures used to volumise and contour areas of the face to create a fuller, smoother and more youthful appearance. There are different dermal fillers available today, and at Aesthetics by Aria we strive for the best since these treatments offer a variety of benefits with natural, long-lasting results in many cases. If you are looking to reverse signs of ageing without extensive surgery, dermal fillers might be the option you are seeking.

What are they

Dermal fillers are injected into the underlying skin layers, where they add support to the underlying dermal structure to restore youthful volume and hydration while smoothing away wrinkles and other skin imperfections. Dermal fillers are safe, non permanent and reversible. When administered by experienced injectors, these treatments offer the following benefits:

  • Enhance lip size and shape

  • Sculpt and define the cheekbones

  • Enhance the chin by lengthening and projection

  • Alter the shape of the nose or correct imperfections or asymmetries

  • Correct fine lines and deeper wrinkles

  • Improve the appearance of shallow scars, including acne and surgical scars

  • Volumise the temples for a more youthful facial shape

  • Add subtle volume to the tear troughs to improve the appearance of tired eyes, dark circles, fine lines and volume loss

Results appear right after treatment and can last for many months until subsequent injections are necessary to maintain a fresh and rejuvenated appearance.

How do they work

Dermal fillers provide support to the inner dermal network, where their primary job is to restore volume, support and lift to the face, in addition to enhancing facial shape. Loss of volume is a natural part of the ageing process and can lead to wrinkles, drooping, shrivelling and flattening of different areas of the face. Dermal fillers can be used to soften wrinkles (e.g. around the mouth), lift areas that droop (e.g jowls, cheeks) and volumise (e.g. lips, cheeks). At Aesthetics by Aria, fillers selected integrate beautifully, providing a natural and soft appearance.

What ares can I treat

Dermal fillers are versatile formulations that can be administered to many different areas of the face, depending on the cosmetic goals of the patient. Common treatment areas include:

  • Cheeks, nose and lips

  • Tear troughs and areas beneath the eyes

  • Upper eyelid and brows

  • Chin and jawline

  • Nasolabial folds and smile lines in the corners of the mouth

  • Temples

  • Nose

  • Softening static lines

At Aesthetics by Aria we also offer anti-wrinkle injections for dynamic wrinkles that develop when you repeatedly make certain facial expressions. These treatments can even be used simultaneously to produce a dramatically more youthful appearance.

What does the procedure involve

A consultation with Dr. Aria is essential to identify areas in need of treatment. Before your fillers are administered, Dr. Aria will clean the skin and apply an anaesthetic (topical) for analgesia.

Either a small cannula or needle is used to insert the filler into the targeted areas. Cannulas are often preferred for this procedure since they tend to minimise the risk of bruising and swelling afterward. Your overall safety and comfort is a top priority at Aesthetics by Aria.

This procedure takes up to 30 minutes to complete based on the number of facial areas needing treatment. It can easily be done on your lunch hour or any time of the day where you can free up an hour’s time. If you opt to combine an anti-wrinkle treatment with dermal injections, both procedures can be completed in a single appointment.

When can I expect Results

You will see preliminary results immediately. However, it does take up to two weeks for the filler to hydrate and integrate into the tissues to achieve the final result. A complimentary review appointment at two weeks enables Dr. Aria to assess the final result, and make any adjustments as necessary.

How long do results last

Your new look may last anywhere from 10 to 18 months after your treatment. The durability of the treatment will depend on many different factors, including the area treated, the type of filler used. Like any other material, dermal fillers are metabolised by the body and break down over time. Getting follow up treatments (e.g. every 10-12 months) will produce long lasting results.

How do I look right after treatment

In most cases, the only evidence of your procedure you will see is a smoother, more youthful appearance. There may be mild swelling around the injection areas, which will subside within four to five days for most patients. A few patients might find it takes up to two weeks for the swelling to go down completely. You might also be able to see the tiny injection points for a few hours after your procedure. If they are still visible the next day, they can be easily hidden underneath makeup.

Some bruising or swelling may occur after the filler is injected, so it is recommended that patients with upcoming events and special occasions schedule a filler appointment two to three weeks beforehand, giving enough time for any swelling to go down and the filler to settle in and provide optimal results.

What are the risks?

Risks associated with dermal filler treatments are relatively rare, especially when an experienced injector is performing the procedure. In a few cases, patients may experience bleeding, bruising, swelling and redness. Risks can be minimised with treatment by an experienced medical practitioner.

Prior to any treatment, a medical consult with Dr. Aria is essential for an overall assessment of your health and to identify any potential risk factors or contraindications. A consultation is essential to provide information regarding treatments, ensure your safety, set appropriate expectations and address any concerns you may have regarding the procedure.

Your injector’s level of training and experience is something else to consider when it comes to long-lasting results. A well-trained injector has the expertise needed to produce the most favourable outcome in terms of appearance and duration of effects. At Aesthetics by Aria, all your filler treatments are performed by Dr. Aria, who is not just well-trained in cosmetic procedures, but is also a member of the Australian College of Cosmetic Surgeons. He is committed to keeping abreast of the latest medical and scientific advances in cosmetic procedures and with his artistic eye is able to create aesthetically pleasing and beautiful results in his patients.
